Day 1: Belitung Airport – Muhammadiyah Gantong – Rumah Keong – Museum Word Andrea Hirata/ Fairfield by Marriot Belitong 4*/ Deluxe Room (L)
We will meet you at H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin International Airport upon your morning arrival.
Our first destination is the iconic SD Muhammadiyah Gantong, also known as the Rainbow Troops Elementary School. This replica school featured in the acclaimed Indonesian film Laskar Pelangi, based on the novel by Andrea Hirata, helped put Belitung on the global map. We recommend watching this inspiring film to better appreciate the local culture and story.
A short walk from the school takes you to Rumah Keong three large, rattan snail shell structures. These photogenic installations make for great pictures and are popular with visitors.
Next, visit the Museum Kata Andrea Hirata (entrance ticket not included). This literary museum celebrates the Laskar Pelangi story with quotes, photographs, and tributes to the novel’s impact on Indonesian literature.
Our final stop is Kampung Ahok, the childhood village of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), former governor of Jakarta. You’ll visit his family’s former home, which displays personal photos and memorabilia. The village also offers local cafes and souvenir shops.
At the end of the tour, we will transfer you to your hotel for check-in.
Day 2: Tanjung Kelayang Beach – Lengkuas Island – Tanjung Tinggi Beach – Travel to Tanjung Kelayang Beach (B,L)
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Our driver will pick you up and take you to Tanjung Kelayang Beach, the launch point for today’s island-hopping experience.
Board a chartered fishing boat and sail to Garuda Rock Island, known for its giant granite formation shaped like Garuda, the mythical bird from Hindu lore.
Next, visit Sand Island, a tidal sandbank that emerges only during low tide. Its shallow, crystal-clear waters often reveal starfish resting on the seabed perfect for photos.
Continue to Sailing Rock Island, where a sharp granite outcrop mimics the shape of a sailing boat. It’s a striking natural formation visible from afar.
Arrive at Lengkuas Island, famous for snorkelling in turquoise waters filled with coral reefs and tropical fish. For panoramic views, climb the historic Dutch colonial lighthouse, one of Belitung’s most iconic landmarks.
Enjoy a peaceful lunch at Kepayang Island, the largest islet in North Belitung. Relax on its 300-metre stretch of white sand, visit the turtle conservation centre, or explore the local marine life.
Take a short nature walk through Kelayang Cave, a granite tunnel that opens to a hidden natural pool surrounded by boulders a tranquil spot to unwind.
On the way back to the mainland, stop at Tanjung Tinggi Beach, also known as the Rainbow Troops Beach. Stroll along soft white sand and admire the sculptural granite rocks scattered across the shoreline. This beach was also featured in the Laskar Pelangi film.
Our driver will take you back to the hotel for a well-earned rest.
Day 3: Bukit Peramun – Bukit Berahu Beach – Mangrove Gusong Bugis (B,L)
After breakfast at the hotel, head back to Tanjung Tinggi Beach (Rainbow Troops Beach) for a refreshing morning by the sea. Take a dip in the calm, blue waters or sip Belitung’s signature lime juice while enjoying the scenic shoreline.
Next, journey to Bukit Peramun, a granite hill covered in lush forest and known as a popular geosite. A local guide will lead a 2-hour trek along a well-marked trail. Discover native plants and wildlife along the way, and soak in panoramic views of Belitung from the summit.
Recharge with a relaxing lunch at Ketapang Beach Restaurant, where you’ll dine with ocean views and a tranquil breeze.
Continue to Bukit Berahu Beach, a peaceful coastal spot surrounded by shady trees. Walk down the stone steps to a secluded stretch of pristine beach, clear waters, and open blue sky.
Warm up with a cup of traditional Belitung coffee and sample local snacks at the famous Kong Djie Café, a heritage coffee shop with strong local flavour and history.
In the late afternoon, visit Gusong Bugis Mangrove Park a former mining area transformed into a thriving ecotourism site. Over 15,000 mangrove trees were planted to restore the habitat and enhance biodiversity. Walk along the wooden wharf as sunset colours light up the sky in red, gold, and amber tones.
Return to your hotel and rrest.
