Arrive at Sam Ratulangi Airport-Manado, transfer by boat to Gangga Island resort for overnight.
This day is dedicated to exploring the jungle for wildlife and bird watching.
Start your trek to Tangkoko National Park, where in just 40 minutes, you’ll reach Batuangus Beach before climbing Mount Tangkoko (1500m). The dense, untouched jungle is home to unique species like the crested black macaque and the tarsier, the smallest primate in the world.
As you trek, you may encounter the red gnarled hornbill and the maleo, a megapod bird that lays its eggs on large mounds on the black sand. You might also spot couscous, a relative of the Australian koala. A forest ranger will guide you to the summit. In the afternoon, return to Gangga Island Resort for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, transfer by boat to Manado, then drive up to the Minahasa Highlands.
We’ll visit Tomohon, a small town situated between two active volcanoes, known for its unique local market selling dog rats, bats, and snake meat.
Next, we’ll visit Wolaoan Village to see how traditional Minahasa wooden houses are constructed, followed by a visit to Tondano.
Lunch will be served at a restaurant near Tondano Lake, the largest lake in the province.
In the afternoon, explore Pulutan, famous for its pottery made of clay, and Linow Lake, known for its changing colors and stunning views.
In the late afternoon, return to your hotel for an overnight stay at either Minahasa* (Deluxe room) or Quality Hotel*** (Superior room).
