Day 1: Arrival in Jakarta in the morning, Airport pick-up
Welcome to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia! Your private driver will pick you up in the morning at Jakarta Soekarno – Hatta International Airport and take you to the hotel we carefully selected for you. The rest of the day will be free for you. You can have a good rest at the hotel or explore the city freely on your own.
Day 2: Jakarta city exploration (B,L)
This morning, your professional tour guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel and take you to visit the Batavia old town, which is the predecessor of the old city of Jakarta. First stop we will visit and enter Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral (with polite dress) before lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit Taman Fatahilla, where you will see many museums, like the city’s National Museum, the Wayang Museum and the Museum of Fine Art and Ceramics. These buildings have retained the style of Dutch architecture. After finishing the visit, you will be transferred back to the hotel.
Day 3 : Jakarta – Luxury Train Journey to Yogyakarta – Transfer to Amanjiwo (B,L)
Morning breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Gambir train station and depart to Yogyakarta by Luxury Train . Upon arrival in Tugu Station Yogyakarta, meet and greet with our guide for transfer to your hotel in Amanjiwo
Day 4 : Borobudur Area – Puthuk Setumbu Sunrise – Borobudur Temple – OHD Museum – Selogriyo Soft Trekking (B,L)
Wake up early in the morning to reach Borobudur before sunrise from Puthuk Setumbu, leaving the hotel around 04:30. This is the most mystical time to see the temple where you can see Borobudur sunrise from Puthuk Setumbu. Back to hotel for breakfast. This morning we will head to a small village on the slopes of Mt Sumbing for the start of a soft trekking experience. Enjoy lunch en route. Walk through rice fields and plantations and see local villagers at work taking care of their crops or processing charcoal. Then visit Selogriyo Temple. Although it’s a rather modest temple, the walk there (about 2 hours) is beautiful and easy to do for everybody. The next stop is a visit to OHD Museum in Magelang for a look at the area’s contemporary art and one of the best private collections in the country. (OHD Museum closes on Tuesday). After lunch, we will continue to the Borobudur area to explore Borobudur Temple . It was built in the 9th century and was buried by a volcanic eruption in 1006 AD and then was rediscovered 806 years later in 1812 by Sir Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles, an important British colonial statesman. As the largest and oldest group of stupas in the world, it was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1991. Back to hotel for overnight.
Day 5 : Borobudur Area – Sultan Palace – To Taman Sari by Becak Rickshaw – Batik Painting Class – Prambanan Temple – Merapi Volcano (B,L)
After breakfast at hotel. This Morning we will visit Sultan Palace the Keraton of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat and experience the constant hustle and bustle of Javanese life as you tour the city of Yogyakarta in a becak, which is the local name for a rickshaw. With three tires and one seat at the front, the becak is manually pedaled by the driver to Taman Sari water castle, then by car continue for 1 hour Batik Painting class and we will visit the Hindu temple of Prambanan, and we will stop on the Merapi Volcano before back to your hotel for overnight.
Day 6: Borobudur Area – Half Day Mendut Temple – Pawon Temple – Candirejo (B)
Depart after breakfast, wewill visit Pawon & Mendut temple. After lunch you will be guided to visit Candirejo village. You can choose to tour around by traditional horse-drawn carriage. Later, you will have a chance to attend a class to learn the Indonesian Gamelan music, which is the oldest, most distinctive and most influential of Indonesian music in the world then back to hotel
Day 7 : Borobudur Area- Yogyakarta International Airport – HOME/ Next Destination(B)
Transfer to Yogyakarta International Airport for your flight Home or Next Destination. End of the Trip
